Blasting has never being so unrestricted. Sponge Blasting is the only technology with full clearance in classified areas in plants around the world. Blasting on classified operating assets is possible due to the low-temperature, low-dust, no-ricochet performance characteristics of the Sponge Media™ abrasives. This bundle of benefits, referred to Sponge-Jet MicroContainment™ cause a lack of disruption to operations which a direct and positive impact on the revenue.

  • Preparing and re-coating in-service storage tanks is now more safe and faster than emptying and de-gassing them.

  • LP Gas Plant Repaints Storage Tanks Live

    Storage tanks at this LP facility were corroding with large sections of paint missing completely. The production manager wished not to shut down the facility, taking the tanks out of service. Sponge-Jet blasting offered a safer more controlled method to prepare these tanks while pressurized and in service.

  • Blasting on Live Process Equipment

    Pumps, valves and other process pipe components are all being prepared, while operating, at this Repsol fuel distribution plant. Normally the fugitive emission and dust would penetrate mechanical seals, bearings and other rotating items – causing future reliability issues. Now with Sponge-Jet, the plant maintains quality coating systems without compromise or fear of damaging sensitive equipment.

  • Liquid Gas Plant Condenser

    The outside of this condenser was completely stripped and prepared for recoating during gas plant operations. Despite the flammable nature of the facility – suitable grounding and other approved procedures allowed the crew to work efficiently to complete the work during normal production.

  • Power Generation on an Offshore Platform

    Sponge-Jet was used on this operational offshore platform to abrasive sponge blast components of the power generation unit.

  • Gas distribution facility

    A simple canopy, ventilation, and Sponge-Jet allowed this gas distribution area to be blasted and recoated during operations - saving the cost and disruption of shutting down the unit.

  • Offshore Flare Lines Blasted in Operation

    Suspended over the Ocean with flammable gas inside this flare line, a specialist is preparing the flare for recoating by blasting with Sponge-Jet Silver 30 Sponge Media™ abrasives.

  • Tanks/Equipment Cleaned After Crude Oil Spill

    An LPG burner overcharged, spewing crude oil on station tanks and equipment. Sponge-Jet was the solution chosen to clean the oil without disturbing existing coatings. Blasting with Green Sponge™ was safe, dry, even reusable - and fast - with production 15m²/hr (2.75 ft²/min).
