Sponge-Jet Blasts by Ultra-Sensitive Cleaners with Blue Sponge Media
July 18, 2007 - Portsmouth, NH

Sponge-Jet, the world leader in dry, low dust abrasive blasting, announces the re-release of Blue Sponge Media™.

Rapid growth of the historic restoration market along with demand for cleaning porcelain insulators used in power transmission necessitated its re-release. Blue Sponge Media, launched in the early 1990's for removing oil and grease was gradually replaced by more aggressive Sponge Media cleaning products.

“Sponge-Jet customers turned to Green Sponge Media™ and White SPOCC Sponge Media™ which contain active cleaning agents,’ stated Sponge-Jet President Michael Merritt, ‘the two products still available today are well suited for quickly removing oil, grease, soot or char from sensitive substrates.”

Blue Sponge Media contains soft sponge-like polyurethane with no additional cleaning agents. “Its re-release was dictated by the growing demand for cleaning ultra-sensitive surfaces,” continued Merritt. Blue Sponge Media is highly effective at removing contaminates without scratching or dulling gloss surfaces or other factory applied finishes. The product is also used for cleaning historic plaster and other ultra-sensitive substrates.
